Hon. Richard Hodge to speak for ABOTA: Civility Matters!
Presented by the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), Civility Matters furthers ABOTA’s purpose – “To elevate the standards of integrity, honor and courtesy in the legal profession.” The Anti-Fraud Alliance is pleased to sponsor this one-hour presentation as the concepts advanced by ABOTA are applicable to all aspects of fraud investigation, the defense of fraudulent claims, and the criminal and civil prosecution of persons engaged in fraud. It’s a given that incivility in litigation—civil or criminal—rarely benefits anyone. The same is true for SIU personnel and other fraud investigators. Yet we all see it from time to time – claims examiners, investigators, counsel, clients and even judges behaving badly. What to do? Experienced litigators, a superior court judge, and a mediator will share practical advice for effectively dealing with incivility in claims investigations and in civil and criminal cases.
